Grunge editorial meets a long day in the garage.
Day zero of world-building. The brief was an index of content to start surfacing the band visually — editorial short form and photography that establishes the era of Cherry Vance on 3686, made to be used ambiguously rather than tied to a single track. The set: a 1996 garage bedroom meets Cherry Vance. The rule: everything should look how it sounds and sound how it looks.
Celluloid, DV and cinema, in three and a half hours.
Ten o’clock call, walk-through, then one continuous block of photo and video on a dressed garage-bedroom set. Photography heavy on 35mm with digital alongside; video on DV and cinema cameras, framed for both 1:1 and vertical. Wrap by 1:30.
Three-piece band, small crew: creative director, one photographer, one video operator, one PA. The whole point was a bag of vibes — a stack of looks that could carry a rollout before anyone had heard a note.
